Complete Tour Description
Take a break from the crowds in Venice and discover the charming, lesser-known islands of the Venetian lagoon on this semi-private group tour of no more than 15 people. With a private, air-conditioned boat, complimentary prosecco, and access to a private art gallery—you’ll truly feel like one of Venice’s elite!
Begin your day by meeting you local, expert guide at a central location in Venice to board your private boat. From there, you’ll cross the waterways and make for Murano, all while drinking in gorgeous views and complimentary prosecco.
Murano may be a small island, but it has a big reputation on the world’s stage. It’s here that the finest glass blowing artisans can be found throughout the centuries all the way to the present day. You’ll arrive by boat to the most famous glass making factory on the island in time for an awe-inspiring glass blowing demonstration. Then, you’ll be led to the factory’s private Art Gallery to view some of the most intricate and incredible works made by master craftsmen. During your tour, you’ll also learn about the art itself and how, for a time, Murano glass blowers were the only people in the world who knew how to make mirrors!
Then it’s back on your boat to travel to Torcello. Once you arrive, you’ll immediately understand why Torcello is considered “the garden of Venice”. Use your free time on this charming island to soak up the lush greenery and beautiful flowers or climb the bell tower of the local basilica for a gorgeous aerial view of the lagoon.
The last stop on your adventure is Burano. This tiny island is famous for its colorful houses and its lacemaking craftswomen. Your visit will introduce you to some off the women who are continuing the legacy of this ancient craft. Then, you’ll have free time to wander the kaleidoscopic streets, shop from local artisans, or sample the island’s famous cookies in a local bakery.
Finally, make your way back to Venice with a glass of Prosecco in hand and plenty of time to enjoy the rest of your day!
