France constructed the Eiffel Tower in 1889 for the World Fair. Since then it has held the title of the tallest structure in Paris. As a paid monument, it is also the most visited in the world. Your tour begins, fittingly, outside the Architecture museum at the Palais de Chaillot. From here, your guide will show you the most photo-friendly angles of the tower.

Your expert English speaking guide will lead you across Pont d’Iena towards the Iron Lady, all the while filling you in with fascinating stories about how the Parisians hated the tower before it became a symbol of the city. You’ll also discover the background story of the man who made his career out of going against what others thought – Gustav Eiffel.

Usually, the wait time to the Eiffel Tower is long and slow but this tour avoids the desk lines and takes you straight to the observation deck on the 2nd floor. At this height, you’ll easily be able to see the monuments of Paris as far as the Arc de Triomphe on the Champs Elysees and the rooftop of that other survivor, Notre Dame.

There is more. If you are eager to go higher, your guide will direct you to the elevator so you can ascend another level. The 3rd level is as high as you can go on the Eiffel Tower and from here the panoramic views over Paris are unforgettable.

When you come back down, your tour continues to a cruise boat docked less than 200m away on the banks of the Seine. There is no need to line up here either as your ticket is pre-booked. Once you board the cruise boat you can sit back and relax as you glide along the enchanting Seine for an alternative view of the iconic monuments of Paris. You’ll see the Louvre, Notre Dame and the Conciergerie as you float by.
